Fall 2024 Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The Ecology Action Center coordinates Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection for McLean County residents. This Household Hazardous Waste Collection is funded by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency with additional support from the City of Bloomington, Town of Normal, McLean County, and Bloomington-Normal Water Reclamation District with in-kind services donated by Republic Services.
Bloomington Normal Community Air Research and Education (BN-CARE)
Ecology Action Center, in collaboration with community partners, has purchased and installed three stationary outdoor air quality monitors that provide real-time location-specific air quality data.

Bloomington library celebrates completion of expansion
$25M included a drive-up window, expanded parking, three community meeting spaces, two large children’s programming rooms, nine group study rooms, a computer lab, an innovation lab, two recording studios, an interactive kid’s discovery zone, a calming room, a nursing nook, wider aisles and more accessible shelving.
